Question
My husband has a child with his ex wife. He is 7 yrs.old. The issue is I am bipolar and it has never been an issue with his ex until I attempted suicide recently. I was alone in the house and have never endangered children. I have sought therapy and am medicated and have been so for a while. She has known this for years and did not care until now. She is trying to seek restrictions on my husband's parenting time because of me. We already provided her with a letter from my psychiatrist and it was not detailed enough apparently. What should we do? We have court Friday.

I hope you and your husband have a good lawyer who is representing your husband's interests in the court case. I think you should talk to the lawyer about the possibility of getting Friday's court date postponed so you can get a full evaluation from a forensic psychiatrist. Such an evaluation would probably require the forensic psychiatrist to have access to your psychiatric records, to talk to your psychiatrist, and and to interview you one or more times.
