You are here: Experts > Health/Fitness > Mental Health > Bipolar Disorder > mania with drinking alcohol
Expert: Jurriaan Plesman, Nutritional Psychologist - 10/25/2009
Question Hi. My friend is on Effexor XR 150mg for her anger issues. It has definately helped a lot. She has always been moody, but I don't know so much that it's bi-polar because really she only seems happy when drinking - which is only once a week. Lately she's been more than just happy when drinking - I would say manic. She doesn't stop talking, is extremely euphoric and over the top. Then the rest of the week is her grumpy,not-so-happy self. Could you give me any insight as to what is going on here? Thank you very much,,,,dara
Answer HI dara,
I am not in a position to diagnose her as being manic depressive or Bipolar. This is bet done in the hands of a psychiatrist. But extreme mood swings may also be a sign of hypoglycemia, in which case going on a hypoglycemic diet will reduce the mood swings in most cases.
This can also be related to her anger management problems. Please use our web site and use the search engine to get at articles that discuss the terms being searched.
Please read:
