Expert: Jurriaan Plesman, Nutritional Psychologist - 11/1/2009
Question I have been dignosed with BPD and depression. I have been put on numerous anti-phych. drugs and antidepressants to which i have mostly had bad reactions to or they simply have no effect at all.
I know i have depression, but i feel i maybe having some symtoms of some type of maina??? I get quite energetic at night time, and feel like i have to keep moving. I dont sleep much at night, and even get racing thoughts though my head that seam to confuse me and tell me to do the opposite of what i am doing or they are telling me to hurt myself. sometimes i also loose sense of time where i find myself holding objects that i don't remember picking up or even wondering how i got from one room to the other.
Can you help me understand what is happening to me?
I am terrified!!!!
Ellie
Answer Dear ellie,
This is very difficult to diagnose over the internet. As a Nutritional Psychologist I look upon these kind of problems from a nutritional point of view.
I suggest that you familiarise yourself with psychonutritional medicine by studying our web site. The following article gives an overview of the web site;
Self-help Personal Growth Psychotherapy at:
http://www.hypoglycemia.asn.au/articles/self-help_personal_growth.html
and ask for a referral to a Nutritional Doctor, a Clinical Nutritionist or a Nutritional Psychologist if he wants to.
Also use the search engine and look for schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, Lecithin, What is Hypoglycemia, Depression is a Nutritional Disorder. These will lead to articles discussing these topics.
The adoption of the hypoglycemic diet is the first step in any treatment for mood disorders.
I hope I have been of some help.
