Question
Hi I am currently 6 months pregnant. I have always had mood swings but never talked about it to anyone And never took any medications for it. What should I do? Ever since I have been pregant it has gotton worse and I don't want to keep putting stress on my baby. I don't feel talking to anyone about my problems will help anything. And if I start medication this far in my pregancy will it jepordise anything?

Answer
I don't know that talking would help; it would depend on your diagnosis.

It is likely meds would help.  It's possible that you are far enough along that you could take meds without harm to the fetus.

Pls ask your OB at once.  Ask for an earlier appt, if necessary.  If s/he isn't sure, he'll check w/ other experts.

Be honest w/ the doctor.  Is it only "stress" to the baby that worries you, or is there any possibility that you are trying directly to hurt yourself or hurt the baby?

Good luck.
