Bipolar Disorder/Outside of my body

Question
Hello,

I am currently experiencing a really weird feeling. I feel
like I am outside of my self or pulled back. Like I am not
really here.

I currently take:
Trihexyphen 5mg once a day
Geodon 60 mg twice a day at night
Gabbapentin 600 mg three times a day
Celexa 60 mg

I was feeling really panicky this last Friday, so I took a
20 mg tablet of Paxil. I started having these feelings after
taking the Paxil. It was not prescribed to me.

Is it possible that these feelings are coming from the
Paxil?

What are some other reasons for it?

Thanks,

Mat

Answer
Hi Mat . . .

The feeling you describe very well might be depersonalization. Such feelings sometimes originate from increases in anxiety or depression or as a side effect of medication.

I think you should report your recent feelings to your psychiatrist.

It is important to realize that as weird as depersonalization may be, it is not a symptom of psychosis.

Best regards . . .

Ivan
