Bipolar Disorder/Parnate

Question
Hello - what would you suggest when Parnate 's effectiveness wanes after 6 months of  success at 90 mg with Lithium 1000?  a higher dose or something else to augment.   Is this common? Thanks

Answer
Hi Dee . . .

When a given dose of Parnate fails to work well I generally increase the dose if rhe individual has been able to tolerate the medication easily. If the Parnate has been accompanied by many hard to tolerate side effects, augmentation/potentiation is indicated.

Best regards . . .
