Question
i was ill for 7 months with a bizarre illness...heavy head and vertigo. after that ended i started battling intrusive thoughts...all day and night. sex and harm. it has been 5 months straight. tried everything..zoloft(made worse) lexapro)could not handle) Luvox - made me feel weird with severe vidid dreams and sweets. Now on Geodon...having unbearable headaches. i take xanax as well. any advice on best med for intrusive thoughts ? and does goedon cause severe headaches. it is unbearable and i need relief from the thoughts so bad

Hi, Donna . . .

I am not allowed to give personal medical advice over the internet but I can tell you that people who have symptoms such as those you describe usually are diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder. When I see such a person in my office I usually treat them with clomipramine (Anafranil).  It is possible that obsessive-compulsive symptoms coexist with bipolar symptoms but the two disorders are not the same.
