Question
my doctor has me on gabitril and ambien for sleep,i am intertested in your opion if this is a safe combination or would i be better off switching the gabitril and taking remeron and ambien

Answer
Hi John . . .

The combination of Ambien and Gabitril is an effective one as Ambien helps people get to sleep and gabitril is one of the few medications that increase the amount of deep (stage 3 & 4) sleep experienced. Of course no medication is totally safe and Ambien sometimes causes people to do unusual things during the night and gabitril has occasionally caused convulsions.

The combination of Ambien and Remeron is effective too, but Remeron is often accompanied by significant weight gain.

Best regards . . .

Ivan
