Question
your opion of taking remeron for sleep and axietyn place of ambien and xanax which i have been taking for past 3 years.taking into account of side effects you think remeron is better then sleeping pills?

Answer
Hi Frank . . .

Asking if Remeron is better than Ambien and Xanax is a little like asking is a 747 better than a family car.

The advantages of Ambien and Xanax are that they generally work pretty well and while they may cause amnesia they usually do not have too many side effects. The big disadvantage is that they are addicting.

Remeron in adequate dose may work well too. The side effects that may cause problems are appetite stimulation with weight gain and possible oversedation lasting well into the next day.

Best regards . . .

Ivan
