dr goldberg,i was taking remeron for sleep and gabitril for restless legs.aftr 3 months with gabitil i sarted to get blurry vision.after checking it out the research said both gabitril andremeron can cause blurry eyes,but it is rare.my sleep doctor said gabitril is safer as it only works on gaba portion of brain while remeron works deeper into brain with seratonin.which is safer or are they equal in sde effects.i tend to prefer gabitril as remeron has me hung over next day

When it comes to treating people with restless leg syndrome, I prefer to use clonazepam (Klonopin) or pramipexole (Mirapex).  They do a good job and seldom have side effects.

While mirtazapine (Remeron) and tiagabine (Gabitril) may work, they usually have more and more severe side effects.
