Bipolar Disorder/Diet for BP II, panic disorder, agoraphobia, and PTSD

Question
I have recently been diagnosed with bipolar II, panic disorder, agoraphobia, and PTSD after a recent breakdown and trip to the hospital for a week. Since I have started prescribed medications, I have had a horrible time with hypoglycemia aggravating my symptoms. If I don't eat on a regular basis, and apparently certain foods (though I haven't yet figured exactly which foods) I have horrible reactions(zombie out or major panic attacks). My question is: is there a connection between BP II and diet? What is a good diet for me to follow to help prevent or manage my symptoms? Should I eat more often as we did in the hospital? I am a one meal a day type person normally...this is no longer working for me. I am allergic to wheat and dairy (and suspect yeast as well), and am obese, which I am sure is not helping. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Answer
Hi Monty,

Yes there is a connection between Bipolar Disorder and Nutrition. Please read:

Nutritional Aspects of Schizophrenia at:
http://curezone.com/upload/Newsletter/Hypoglycemic_He/HYPONL2001_06.pdf
and go to page 7 of Newsletter.
much of this applies equally to Bipolar Disorder.

Also go to our web site and search the INDEX and look up Bipolar Disorder, where you'll find many articles discussing the nutritional aspects of Bipolar Disorder. Most Bipolar people benefit from going on a hypoglycemic diet.
