Question
My wife and I have just found out that she going to a have our first child and she drinks every weekend and alot when she does .. She is using Meds right now for her Biopolar and it is working well and has to come off them due to the fact of having a child .. But I don't think she will be able to stop the drinking what I can I do ..

Answer
Jason:

I believe your wife's drinking in something that needs to be addressed--with both her psychiatric doctor and baby doctor.  The dangers to the baby can be so great.  This is not something I believe you can do on your own.  Please go with her or make an appointment yourself with each of her doctors and discuss your concern.

Let your wife know your concern and let her know what you plan on doing, and why.  She just may surprise you and decide not to drink during the pregnancy.

I wish you all the luck.
