Bipolar Disorder/EST

Question
I have a long history of Bipolar/BPD/PTSD diseases.  The past three and a half years have been hell on Earth.  Nothing could have prepared me for what I've been going through.  I'm suicidal quite often and have slashed many times (needed many stitches), been hospitalized 14 times and have been off and on every medication.  Mind you, this is only the past 3 1/2 years out of 21.  After this next round of meds fails we're probably going to EST.  I know everything about it from years ago but I know nothing about it's use in recent years.  Could you enlighten me?

AS you may know ECT is done under anesthesia two or three times a week. It is probably be most effective form  of treatment for people with mood disorders. You will find lots of information on ECT on my web site. Please see:
