Hi my name is Miriam and I'm working on a school project about Mental
Illness. The specific Illness is Schizophrenia,but I'm also interested in Bipolar
Disorder. I would like to ask you a few questions,if you dont mind. My first
question is.. is there any medicine that can help people with the illness? I
mean is there any medicine that can prevent from getting Bipolar or
Schizophrenia? I know you're an expert in Bipolar more than Schizophrenia
but feel free to tell me everything you know about Schizophrenia.

Hi Miriam:

The answer to your question is No, there is no medication available that can prevent either bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.

Medication is used to control the symptoms of these disorders, which are wired into a person's genes from birth.
Unfortunately, a birson needs to be in the midst of the disorder before medication is given.
