Question
Is it possible in such cases as schizophrenia to be aware that you are infact mentally ill?  For example a person who is totally detatched from reality, or is occasionally deprived of reality, could they be aware instinctively, that they are mentally ill?
Thank you, i was simply curious.

Answer
There are many schizophrenics who are aware of their illness. Others may not be aware. Those who are aware have a much better chance for successful treatment.
