I recently started taking this medication and have been taking it for about 3 months.
How do I stop taking this medication appropriately. What are the side effects and how long do they last.

As for the side effects of zonisamide. The following is from a book I am in the process of completing:

A: The most common side effects of zonisamide (Zonegran), and the percentage of patients reporting them are:

•   Altered taste         47%
•   Fatigue                   47%
•   Dry mouth         47%
•   Cognitive problems       40%
•   Insomnia          33%
•   Nausea                  33%

Rarely zonisamide (Zonegran) causes a severe allergic reaction, depression, mania or psychosis.
