Question
My name is Stephanie and am 25 yrs. old.  Three yrs. ago I was diagnosed with being Bipolar and last night I discovered I have blackouts, while being wide awake and talking, have lapses in time that I do not remember, even simple ones.( even though I have been told for a long time now I just always thought whatever they were saying I said or did just must not be true because I had NO memory of it what so ever ) I am now terrified and I guess my question is, are blackouts related to being Bipolar because I have never really read ( and believe me I have READ ) that they are.  And currently, the only medications I take are Adderall and an occassional Xanax for anxiety.  My Dr. put me on Lithium but it's only been a week or so and this apparantly has been going on for YEARS!  WHAT DO I DO?  Is this totally unrelated and there is something wrong with me?  It's not the meds because as I sat and thought about all the times this has happened sometimes I was on nothing at all or nothing that I am on right now....help me please I am desparate for answers!

Answer
Hello Stephanie,

If you have been diagnosed Bipolar  your first call of port is your doctor.

Your doctor will be the only person who can help you..
I j\know that going on a hypoglycemic diet helps bipolar patients, but you need to discuss this with your doctor.
