Question
My son was diagnosed yesterday with depression w psychosis for now and the Dr believes that once they deal with the psychosis that he has bipolar disorder.  On top of everything else, he wont tell us that he loves us anymore.  I tell myself that it is just the disorder, but I am human and it hurts.  Also he started taking Lamictal and Seroquil yesterday.  He has not eaten because he says that he cant swollow and he spits everything out.  Any ideas?

Answer
Hello Melinda,

I know how difficult it is for you.

I can only generalize about some illnesses, such as that bipolar people do respond well to the hypoglycemic diet.

See:

The Hypoglycemic Diet at:

But although people can be classed as bipolar, there are differences at the individual level.

I think this needs to be handled by a therapist, and I suggest you discuss your son's behaviour with the psychiatrist treating him.
