Question

My father has biploar sco..and has been for the past 15 years.he gets on and off his medication all the time and it seems when he does that he was getting back to normal and then gets off.He has threaten and beat my mom,brother and myself when we lived with him,my mom finally left and got a divorce and now 8 years later he still threatens her life.I have a 4 yr old daughter who he was a good grandpa to until resently got off his medication and I am keeping her from him due to the way that he is off meds and talks crazy.I found out today he lost his job and that he ran up his credit cards that he was trying so hard to keep good he is getting worser day by day talking in the air saying someones going to kill him and threating my mom for moving on with her life.I went down to HHR where he goes to get his check ups to make sure he is on his meds but he takes them 2 days before he goes and almost overdosing so it can be in his blood,,they wont help I dont know what to do all they said was to wait til he does something we can call the police and they will bring him but that they cant do nothing or tell me anything until then??Is this the way I'm suppost to live wait until my dad kills or hurts someone to get him back on his meds?He always hurts someone for them to help the last time was a cop when he was tazered after trying to catch a cop on fire with lighter fluid I dont know if this website can help but please respond by email

Hi star,
There is little we can do from a distance. I suggest you talk to the police, just in case something happens. I also suggest that you contact his doctor. It is important to have your social support in situations like that. It seems to me that your father is not properly treated.
