Bipolar Disorder/severe shaking and meds

Question
I have a question regarding the meds my husband is on for being bipolar. He is on Lithium, Clonopin, Equetra, and Lamectal. He shakes so badly he can't hardly feed himself. We keep telling his doctor but he won't do anything about it. Is it normal to shake that badly? What can we do, if anything, to help control it?

Answer
Hi, Denise . . .

When one of my patients taking a bunch of medications starts to shake badly I usually interpret that as meaning that the blood level of one or more of the medications has become excessive

The blood levels of lithium, Equerto, and Lamictal can easily be measured.

Best regards . . .
Ivan
