Question
I have met a person who says she has bipolar disorder. IŽd like to know more about it, symptoms, etc, since this is a very special person to me. Mostly, IŽd like to know what kind of behavior to expect from someone with bipolar disorder. Thank you

Answer
Hi Thais:

I admire your willingness to learn more about this disorder.  You have a very lucky lady there.  I can't give you a lot of answers, however.  Every person experiences bipolar differently and exhibits different symptoms.  The only common symptom is extreme mood sings.  A bipolar person can be extremely happy one miinute and crying the next.

Your best bet is to talk with your lady.  Let her know you want to understand what bipolar is to her.  She will feel loved and be more than willing to explain.  One thing most bipolar people want is understanding.

Talk with her, let her know you want to understand.
