Question
I'm 16 years old but I did the questionaire at the website that you used in one of your answers to someone's question. I scored a 44...should I get help or do you think I'm overreacting? Is there a more appropriate site for me because of my age?
Thank you.

Answer
Hi . . .

The Bipolar Screening Questionnaire is only valid if you are over 18 and have had a serious episode of depression. If you are under 18 and have had a serious episode of depression, the questionnaire may be valid, but only a psychiatrist could determine that after interviewing you.

If you have had one or more periods of severe depression, I would suggest that you see a psychiatrist for a diagnostic interview.

Best regards . . .

Ivan
