Birding/birds

Question
Why does it seem like birds roosting on power lines face the same way?

Answer
I really wouldn't know, but I assume it's one of the following:

- The birds land in the same position/direction as they flocked into the area.

- The take a position depending on the Sun's position, either to have a better visibility and not be blinded by it, or to warm up.

- To get the most aerodynamically stable position during windy conditions (nose into the wind).
