Question
We have two bird houses about 20 feet apart. The bluebirds built a nest in one and swallows built in the other.
The bluebirds have laid an egg in their nest but I have not seen them for a few days and there is still only one egg. A few years ago they were very active and had several eggs.
Is there anything I could or should do? I feed them grubs and they are stil eating those.
Be patient. Cold spring weather sometimes interrupts egg laying. Also you may have had more and a snake has gotten some, or something has happened to the female.
