Birding/robin nest

Question
I have a robin starting to build a next in my dining room window sill. How do I deter? I have removed the beginning stage but she keeps coming back with more and rebuilding. This window sill is not a good area for her. I look forward to hearing from you.

Answer
Why are you trying to deter her -or why do you think the sill is not a good place?

Robins are determined birds and they have a pretty good idea of where they should and shouldn't nest. I would trust in her instincts and let her finish. Consider it an honor. Two weeks incubating and two weeks to leave the nest. It's only a month.

Expertise

I can answer questions about bird identification (by sight or sound), behavior, distribution, population, conservation, mating, nesting, fledging and feeding. I do have some practical knowledge about foreign species, but identification skills are limited in that arena. Bear in mind that as much as I know, it's possible that at least some of you will ask a question that I am unable to answer. At which point I would direct you to wherever or whomever I thought could provide you with that information.

Experience

I have 15 years birding experience in Southern California.

Organizations
Audubon Society

Education/Credentials
My education is in art and photography -but I have a substantial portfolio of nature related work.
