Birding/baltimore orioles

Question
We live in Michigan and every spring I put out an oriole feeder (I have the best luck with grape jelly).  The birds come and feed for about 4-6 weeks and then they just stop.  Where do they go?  Do they migrate further north? Should I leave the feeder out or will i just be wasting food?

Answer
During the late spring and summer the Orioles are breeding and raising young. At this time they need high protein food, so they feed on insects and worms and such. Grape jelly and fruit are high in sugar but low in protein so they pretty much ignore that food source. Best to quit feeding for the summer.
