Birding/Baby Wrens

Question
I have a Carolina Wren make a nest in my fern on my back porch.  We have watched the mother and father take good care of them.  My only problem is that I went outside at night and scared the babies out of the nest.  One flew out so I am not as worried about it since it is ready to fly.  The other baby just fell out of the nest because it was scared onto the patio.  I put both of them back into the nest, but the one that fell out I think hurt it's wing. What is best to do?

Answer
Not much that you can do. This is a normal reaction as babies are safer out of the nest if they are able to get out of it when a predator like a snake or a killer house sparrow attacks, even if they are not able to fly. The parents will feed them on the ground or in a bush, and at least some of them will survive. A pair of Carolina Wrens nested twice in my garage this spring (once in a bicycle helmet) and they had to enter the garage through a crack under the garage door. This one or another pair now has my newspaper box blocked with a nest. Regarding a possible injury, just let nature take its course.
