Subject: Behavior while Robins Nest

Question
I looked outside my side door of my home and right next to my door on the light fixture, the Robins have made a nest.  I am afraid to let them build their nest next to my door, because I think they might swoop down on me when I go out my door.  Is this true.  Sorry to say I have taken it down.  Thank you

Answer
It is possible that they would have eventually given up on the nesting site if constant people traffic was right next to it. If they had finished it and laid eggs, it is possible that the would attack nearby intruders, but not as aggressively as mockingbirds do.
