Birding/baby bird

Question
I found this baby bird without any parents in sight! so i picked it up with a towel and now i have it in a box with a towel covering a heating pad to keep it warm. What do i do?

Answer
If the bird is pretty much fully feathered, let it go immediately; the parents are around somewhere. If there are lots of pinfeathers and skin showing, then contact your local wildlife rehab center for help and advice. It is VERY difficult to raise a baby bird without experience. You can also go to www.ornithology.com/rehab.html for information.
