Expert: Roger Lederer Date: 8/23/2008 Subject: I found wild duck eggs but i have no incubator
Question Hello im not sure if you can answer this but how do you hatch a muscovy duck egg if you have no incubator? also since hurricane Fay brought lots of rain, the eggs have been under the lake for about 3 days, so how can you tell if the eggs are alive or not?
Answer Muscovy Ducks are domestic, not wild ducks, although they may have been living in the wild. They are not native ducks. If the egss have been underwater for three days (or even three hours) they are no good. Don't bother trying to hatch them. Eggs breathe - they need oxygen, just like other creatures.
