Question
I have rescued a finch with what appears to be a broken wing.  I don't want to leave it to be eaten by neigbourhood cats or harrassed by kids. We called the animal resuce (SPCA) but they don't handle this kind of thing. I have brought it into my house.  What can I do. ie feeding and care of a wild bird?

Answer
Maybe there is a wildlife rehab center in your area; that's your best bet. Also call your loacl wildlife official for help and advice. It is illegal to keep a wild bird in captivity without a permit. Meanwhile go to www.ornithology.com/rehab for hints on taking care of a wild bird.
