Question
There is a cardinal that goes around to several windows of our house and garage and flies right into them, I think sometimes he or she is going to knock themselves out. This has been going on for several weeks. What can I do to stop it? I don't want it to hurt itself.
This is normal nesting time behavoir. The bird is fighting its reflection and it will not hurt itself. You can cover the window with cloth or paper, put up a screen or garden netting, soap the window or hang strips of cloth or Mylar (Usually the best solution), or just ignore it. It will stop when nesting season is over.
