Birding/Birds nest

Question
Why would birds of another species attack a house finch nest? It looks like some kind of chippy that is pulling apart the nest of the house finch! One baby already fell to the concrete stoop?

Answer
I can't give you a definite answer because I don't know the exact circumstances. Could be they are nesting in the other bird's favorite place or the other species is just using their nest for nest material of their own. Or it could be a predator trying to eat the eggs or young. I don't know what you mean by a kind of chippy.
