Birding/Goose Eggs

Question
I purchased Pilgrim goose eggs to hatch in my incubator.  During the past few weeks the power has gone off for half a day, the temp. in my incubator has fluctuated, not to mention the humidity.  Anyway, this is the 30th day an I took one out, because I was afraid I was just incubating rotten eggs, and made a hole in one.  Much to my surprise there was a gosling inside!  I could see it breathing.  Well, my question is should I try to cover the hole with a small amount of duck tape :) or have I ruined the egg altogether?  Do you have any suggestions?  I am afraid it will dry out if I don't do something.
Thank you for your time and consideration to the impatient person on the other end of this email.

Answer
Bird rearing is totally out of my expertise, buy you can not close the egg back. I think you should risk cracking the egg and hope that the chick survives. If you close it back, and you say the bird was breathing, you'll suffocate it. Also, if you close it, bacteria will grow. In any case, continue looking for an expert's help.
