Question
We are building a new garage and have to move a yellow ribbon arborvitae that a Robin has a nest in with 4 eggs in it now for about a week. Should we take the nest out, move the tree and then put the nest back in it after the tree has been moved 30 feet?
Usually that kind of disturbance and moving a nest with eggs that far will cause the nest to be abandoned. If so the pair will renest somewhere else and the female has more eggs to lay. If you can wait 4 or 5 weeks you can enjoy watching the babies grow.
