Question
I have a problem with birds under my carport, and depositing little presents on my car.  How do I get rid of them. I am not sure what kind but they are brown and have a scissored tail.  Thank You

Answer
I'm sorry, but so many birds fit that description. A high probability is the alien unprotected house sparrow. The male has a black patch on his chest. If you see that you can take a power hose nozzle and get rid of them. If they are native birds they are protected and you can't kill them this year, but next spring use the hose nozzle when they start to build nests and that will discourage them. Get a bird field handbook at a bookstore or go to the library and look them up. If you can get a good close up picture send it to me.
