Question
I have a hummingbird who has 2 new babies who hatched about a week ago and she seems to have disappeared in the past couple of days. Her little chicks are obviously hungry as their little beaks are constantly up and opened wide looking for food.Is there anything I can do to save these little babies, I hate to see them starve. Thank you for you're help, I appreciate it very much.

Answer
If you are absolutely sure the mother is gone, contact your local wildlife rehab center for advice and help - or wildlife official. The babies won't last more than a day without being fed, so the mother could not have disappeared more than 24 hours ago. Meanwhile go to www.ornithology.com/rehab.html for advice. Thanks for your concern.
