Question Hello! I'm back with another question. We have baby robins that were pushed out of the nest just yesterday. I keep track of their locations so that when the dog goes out to do his business he does not bother them. Late yesterday I found that one of the babies had fallen into the window well and one of his little legs had gotten caught...he was sorta hanging upside down. I lowered my daughter down and she lifted him up to me. Upon checking the leg, it looked limp to me. I put him under a tree and left. His parents have been tending to him and his siblings who are scattered throughout my back yard. Although he gets around pretty good considering everything, it is obvious that there is a problem. I am afraid that his parents will eventually abandon him because he won't be able to keep up. Will he even be able to fly if the leg/legs don't work properly for landing? If I need to feed/care for him, what should I do. I will also contact a wildlife rehabilitation gal in the area, but I heard that she may not be doing this anymore. Any guidance would be helpful. Thank You
Answer If his parents are tending him, just leave him be. It's almost always best to let nature take care of things. Whether he will be able to recover is yet to be seen, but he has a better chance with nature than with people, most likely. Thanks for your concern.
