Question
WHAT+IS+MOST+PREVALENT+BIRD+IN+US.+....+GEOGRAPHICALLY+DISTRIBUTED++AND+THEN+NUMERICALLY.+I+ASSUME+THAT+THEY+ARE+DIFFERENT+ANSWERS

Answer
You're asking about two separate things here, abundance and distribition. Which aren't necessarily related.

This information isn't 100% accurate, because it changes from year to year.

Birds that are abundant, year round residents across the entire US, in order of most to least:

House Sparrow
European Starling (which is not indigenous)
Pigeon (rock dove)
Great-horned Owl
House Finch

Birds that found abundantly in every state across the US, in no particular order:

American Kestrel
Mallard
Great Blue Heron
Pied Billed Grebe
Killdeer
Mourning Dove
Common Nighthawk
Belted Kingfisher
Northern Flicker
American Robin
Cedar Waxwing
Song Sparrow
Red-winged Blackbird
Brown-headed Cowbird
Pine Siskin

Expertise

I can answer questions about bird identification (by sight or sound), behavior, distribution, population, conservation, mating, nesting, fledging and feeding. I do have some practical knowledge about foreign species, but identification skills are limited in that arena. Bear in mind that as much as I know, it's possible that at least some of you will ask a question that I am unable to answer. At which point I would direct you to wherever or whomever I thought could provide you with that information.

Experience

I have 15 years birding experience in Southern California.

Organizations
Audubon Society

Education/Credentials
My education is in art and photography -but I have a substantial portfolio of nature related work.
