Question
Thanks for volunteering.  (We love our hummingbirds)

Also, we want to attract orioles.  We live in Minnesota in summer and Arizona in winter.  Do you know what kind of feeder
will attract them?

             Thanks,  Dick

Answer
You can shop around for a better price. But this website had decent examples of everything I'm going to mention.

But an Oriole feeders look like this:

It's made to hold fruit or cups of jelly, or citrus based nectar.

Or there are feeders made to hold apples and pears like this:

They also enjoy suet during the winter. Find a citrus blend:

have a bird bath as well. Since it freezes where you live, you can get heated bird baths.

Orioles are attracted to orange, yellow and red.

Hope this answers your question,

Expertise

I can answer questions about bird identification (by sight or sound), behavior, distribution, population, conservation, mating, nesting, fledging and feeding. I do have some practical knowledge about foreign species, but identification skills are limited in that arena. Bear in mind that as much as I know, it's possible that at least some of you will ask a question that I am unable to answer. At which point I would direct you to wherever or whomever I thought could provide you with that information.

Experience

I have 15 years birding experience in Southern California.

Organizations
Audubon Society

Education/Credentials
My education is in art and photography -but I have a substantial portfolio of nature related work.
