Question
What season is best to do controlled burining for upland game birds?

Answer
That's a very complicated question, or answer, actually. It depends on a lot of things - where you live, what the game birds are, the weather that time of year, the local and state laws pertaining to this, what habitat you are burning, etc. Some agencies burn in the spring, some in the fall, some both. There are cool weather grasses that are usually burned in the spring and warm weather grasses usually burned in the fall. Then you have to consider how often to burn - every year or every other year or? You really need an expert in the area of controlled burning in your area to give you a specific answer.
