Birding/Jackdoors nesting in chimney

Question
I called out the chimney sweep for a blocked chimney and she found a jackdaw's nest in the top with a pair of young jackdaws in the nest. She couldn't remove the nest by law because of the live birds. What I would like to know is how long it will be before they fly the nest? I have no idea how old the chicks are so I guess I'll need a worst case scenario. Thanks for your help.

Answer
Since you don't know how old the chicks are, the worst case scenario is 35 days before they fledge. Typically it would be 28-35 days. They will leave the nest, but they don't fly right away - it taks another 10 days or so of the parents feeding them before their feathers are long enough so they can fly. But they will not be in the nest anymore and most likely not on your roof or near the house.
