Birding/honeycreepers in hawaii

Question
We are planning a trip to either Maui or Oahu as these islands in our past experience seem to have the best snorkeling [my most favorite activity, my husband's is birding] . Please recommend a birding tour on either of these islands, and also what are the chances of seeing the Hawaiian Honeycreepers on these particular islands. We realize Kuaui has the best birding but we wanted to see if  Maui or Oahu could satisfy my husband's quest for the Honeycreepers! Thanks very much for your help.

Answer
Best thing to do is contact the Hawaii Audubon Society, which is what I would have to do to find the answer to your question. They can give you specifics. Maui or Oahu are not as good as Kauai, but if you get high in the rainforest you should be able to see honeycreepers. The lower elevations have most exotic imports.
