Birding/we found a bird

the bird
Dear Roger, today we found a helpless bird on the road in Uganda.
I feed it with a syringe with hardboiled egg blended with milk and silver fish. What kind of bird is it and how can we help it.  Thanks a lot!

It appears to be Allen's Gallinule. See  What you are feeding it is fine. These birds are omnivorous taking plant material, small rodents, amphibians and eggs.. Why is it helpless? Looks like an adult. Good luck and thanks for your concern.
