Birding/Baby Morning Dove Broken Wing

Question
We found a Morning Dove in our yard today and he's about he size of an baseball, but his right wing seems to have been broken... it's still connected but his feathers seem to have been ripped out, or something. I could use any help you give, would he live even if we took care of him, could he even fly again? What do they eat?
Any help would be taken to heart, thank you.

Answer
Best thing to do is take him/her to your local wildlife rehab center or nature center. I can't diagnose his injuries from what you told me so I can't tell you if he might fly again. I can tell you that baby birds, especially doves, are VERY hard to raise successfully, so you need someone nearby with experience to give you help or advice. Call your local wildlife officials for help also. Thanks for your concern and good luck.
