Birding/Bird Identification by picture web site

Question
Hello,

At one point recently I found a very comprehensive terrific web site where you could identify names of birds just by knowing what they looked like, and now I can't find the site.  It showed male/female pictures, mature/immature pictures, etc.  I believe it separated them into perching birds, etc.  It's NOT http://www.enature.com/ which is very difficult to use.

Help!?

Thanks,
Jeff

Answer
There are a number of such sites, some good and some bad. I don't know the specific one you refer to. Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology is very good as is the Patuxent Bird Banding Lab( http://www.mbr-pwrc.usgs.gov/id/framlst/infocenter.html). The American Birding Association has some good links as does Ornithology.com and Surfbirds.com. There are some excellent CDs as well but the ultimate reference for me is Sibley's Field Guide to Birds. Roger Lederer
