Birding/Bird Names

Question
My daughter is in the 7th grade.  Her Science project is to find 30 birds that share the same names as U.S. cities.  I have tried to google it, but I am at a loss as to where to find this information.  Please help!

Answer
Well, I don't think you are going to find this information easily listed anywhere. There are two ways to go about it - go through a bird book and look at the names and see if any are city names you recognize - or go to an atlas and look at the list of cities and towns and see if you recognize any as bird names.  The latter is probably the best. I don't know how else you would do it.
You didn't ask, but this seems like an odd science project - I don't know what it has to do with science. But it could be fun in any case. (You might ask if Baltimore counts for Baltimore Oriole). Hint - there are lots of lakes with bird names and usually towns nearby with the same name.
