Question
Hi there.
I live in Salt Lake City-- and we have had spring like conditions since yesterday... and then the last bit of snow came.
This morning I saw a robin on my door wreath== and now there are 2 little tiny blue eggs in it.  It's snowing tonite-- but should be spring like again by tomorrow.... What should I do??  It's on my front door.  I don't want to disturb... ???  How long do the eggs take to hatch and then will they live there.
Thanks so much!  I am totally clueless!  Cindy

Answer
Robins usually lay a clutch of 3-4 eggs, sometimes more. So I suspect there will be more. She probably hasn't started incubating yet, so the eggs are probably still alive. If you are not going to disturb the nest (good for you), then the eggs will take about two weeks to hatch and the young will remain in the nest for another two weeks before they leave it. Then you can take the wreath down. Roger Lederer at Ornithology.com
