Birding/Mockingbirds at night

Question
Hello. Each year around this time, a mockingbird roosts in the trees around my house. Specifically, they roost within 50 ft of my bedroom window.  It never fails; there is always one that starts its loud and beautiful song about 11:45 pm and sings until at least 8:00 am. Even with the windows closed, the sound disturbs our sleep.  Do you have any recommendations as to how to discourage the bird from singing near my house?

Answer
I'm afraid not. This is their territory and they will sing to declare that until breeding season is over in a few weeks. There is nothing legal you can do to disturb the bird meanwhile, so I might suggest earplugs.......
