Question
Hi Roger,

I hope you can help me identify this bird. I have looked all over the internet, but have had no luck.

I have pictures that I can send you.  Here is a description:

The bird was seen in the Metro Louisville KY area.

Large bird, 12-16" tall;
Medium length straight beak, that was fairly thick;
Thick legs, seen stading on 1 leg;
Brown/tan color, white underside with brown streaks;
Yellow eyes;
Seen with similar bird and then flew to another tree, and made a loud screeching noise;
It had 1 long thin feather from the back of his head, maybe 8" long.

I have never seen this bird before.  Your help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Phil
